You are currently viewing Yummy Mummy Got Some Love, I Got an Award

In this world there are those who nurture and those who are nurtured. Kim, the Yummy Mummy, is the poster girl of the nurturers. It was her encouragement that started me writing Red Cook, and she continues to be a champion of my blog. So when she received the Arte Award from NTSC at The Art of the Pig, I thought it was truly appropriate and well deserved. But then I received a complete surprise when she in turn bestowed the same award to me. I am humbled in comparison with all the prior recipients of the Arte Award. They are all such luminaries of the blogosphere with much more extensive content and longer history. But my partner Warren, who is mathematically inclined, very gently reminded me that if each recipient selects five new recipients, after ten rounds there are 9,765,625 recipients. Well, I am just pleased that mine arrived rather early. Nevertheless I am encouraged by this award to strive to become a better blogger. An advantage of receiving the award is being able to recognize others who have also contributed to the blogging community. I am pleased to select five of my favorite bloggers to receive this award.

Appetite for China

Diana Kuan is a freelance writer living in Beijing and writing about her experiences with food and cooking in China. I love her in depth views and her drive to understand the complex Chinese culinary traditions. I am interested in this same pursuit and have been fascinated by her postings.

Fine Furious Life

Michele Humes has the most creative culinary mind I ever encountered. Her meatloaf cupcakes and the dessert plate paintings were just examples of her genius. She also uses her Eurasian background to create some exciting fusion concepts.

Chef Gone Wild

What can I say about Zen Chef. He is witty, creative and sensitive all at once. I love his cooking style. I love how he “handles” the bossman. Just read his blog once and you’ll be addicted. I did and I am.

Dave’s Cupboard

I am not sure what it is about Dave’s Cupboard that keeps me coming back for more and more of his writing. Maybe it is because Dave is so unpretentious and down to earth. Maybe because he is in New England and I simply adore New England. Whatever it is I love his blog.

Candey

I decided I need to recognize a Chinese language blog. There is so much wonderful writing and creative cooking coming out of China. One of my favorites is by Candey. She is very creative and a wonderful storyteller. Although most of you, my readers, will not be able to read it, visit her anyway and look at some of her pictures. They are eye candy from the other side of the world.

The Rules for the Arte Award:
  1. Pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award with their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogger community, no matter what language.
  2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog.
  3. Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.
  4. Award-winners and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
  5. Display these rules on your blog.

Thank you Kian!! All silliness aside this is very much appreciated by the zenman. You very much deserve the award yourself so congratulations to you. I will do my best to pass on the award soon. As soon as Big Bossman removes my shackles and let me go free! Thanks again! 🙂

Thanks Kian! I love your blog as well. Have a great 4th of July weekend…I’ll try to think of who to pass this on to…

Kian, if ever a blog deserved this award, it is yours; though I don’t leave comments nearly often enough, I always find something new and interesting when I visit here. Thank you for passing it along to me. I laughed when I read your comment about the mathematics of the award, but truth be told, this award is sweet because it’s a nod from our fellow bloggers.
